Squid at a restaurant in Mũi Né, Vietnam

It was a hot night, like so many in Vietnam, but instead of the suffocating heat of crowded Saigon, it almost seemed cooler in the quiet beach resort town of Mũi Né.

Just down the street from the hotel where we were staying, this little restaurant had huge tanks of live seafood, lined up in two long rows in a large room next to the main dining room.

Super-fresh, the squid was otherwise ordinary; though dipping it in nước mắm (fish sauce mixed with sugar, chilis, and other things) certainly helped make it delicious.
