How Fridgg Works

  • How do photos get to the front page?
We have a special algorithm that takes into account pageviews, likes, comments, social sharing, and how long each photo has been around, and uses a combination of those values to calculate a score for each photo. When a photo reaches a certain score, it automatically gets pushed to the front page. This way, only photos that your peers find interesting or good-looking get to the front page. So it's important for you to check out and interact with the photos you like!
  • What do I do if a photo goes to a spam link?
Click the flag button beneath the photo, then choose the "Photo link goes to spam" option.
  • What do I do if a photo includes offensive or non-food-related content?
Click the flag button beneath the photo, then choose the "Inappropriate photo content" option.
  • What do I do if someone is infringing upon my copyright?
Click the flag button beneath the photo, then choose the "Copyright infringement" option.
  • How do I flag a comment if it is spam?
Move your mouse over the comment, then click the "Report Spam" link at the top right corner of the comment.
  • How do I find the blog post where the photo came from?
Click the photo to be taken to the original blog post.
  • How do I like a photo?
Click on the big heart on or under each photo - that will "Like" the photo.
  • What does it mean to "like" a photo?
"Liking" a photo is like giving a virtual thumbs-up or high-five. It tells the person whose photo it is that you think their photo is cool.
  • How can I see who has liked a photo?
Go to the photo's page, and you will see a list of the people who have liked that photo.
  • How do I follow someone?
On their profile page or one of their photo pages, there will be a "Follow" button next to their profile photo. Click this button to follow them.

Submitting Photos

  • How do I submit a photo?
Click the SUBMIT YOUR PHOTO button in the upper right corner of the website (next to your photo) to upload and add details about your photo.
  • Can I submit a photo without a blog post to link it to?
Absolutely! If you have a really good food photo you want to show off, but don't have a blog or haven't posted about it on your blog, you are more than welcome to submit a photo without a link.
  • Should I submit every photo I take, even if they're only slightly different?
Think of your Fridgg profile as your own personal portfolio or photo gallery. Photographers only put their very best work in their portfolios, so you shouldn't upload every single photo you take, and you shouldn't upload photos that only look slightly different - you don't want to drown out your best work with not-so-good work!
  • Is it okay to submit photos if I'm not a professional photographer?
Definitely! We welcome photographers of all skill levels.
  • What size photo can I upload?
Photos must be at least 400px by 400px, and no larger than 20MB.
  • What types of files can I upload
We accept .jpg, .jpeg, and .png files.
  • How do I edit my photos?
Go to the individual photo page, and click the "Edit Photo" button below the photo.
  • How do I delete a photo?
Go to the edit page for that photo, then click the "Delete Photo" button to delete it. But be careful! Once a photo is deleted, this cannot be undone.
  • Why was my photo removed?
If the photo you uploaded is not of food, it will promptly be removed by the admins. If your photo gets flagged as inappropriate or spam, the Fridgg admins will review the photo and may remove it.

  • How do I get to my profile page?
Click on the dropdown in the top right corner of the website, and then click on the link that says "Photos".
